Hello, I'm Emma
A project manager and parent, an expat living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Netherlands wasn't part of the long-range plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon evolved into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built WavroyLoraBexin
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance rooted in real life in Netherlands.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Real-world insights from living in Netherlands
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- An official tourism resource
- a paid-review platform
- a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Netherlands continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Amsterdam or anywhere in Netherlands, please feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Emma
